In China the virus did not spread to every province...even if it did...the numbers did not cross 1000 mark...now its debatable whether those numbers are true ....but then actually it can be concluded that the virus did not cover pan-China...

Now in US, European Countries and other countries, the virus did cover their major regions and hence affected large populations...and the results are in front of us...2 lakh deaths...

Talking of india, the other 1 billion people country, the situation is similar to that of US, European and other Countries...which is that virus has mapped the whole of country...it has entered every state and the numbers are on rise...
I believe we are about to witness the worst catastrophe of the recent history...
I wish somehow it could be stopped ...

With the resources depleting at a fast pace (like: ground water, fossil fuels etc.), and unemployment and pollution at a rise; has the time come to seriously take action against controlling our increasing population??

Increasing population with decreasing resources will no doubt lead to CONFLICTS (be it Intra or Inter Country comflicts)..

Is it the time to consider one or more of the following steps:

2 Child Policy : Yes, there may b problems in strictly enforcing it.So, as a solution, a provision in law should b made of not giving the voting rights to the 3rd child &amp; so on and also to the father.
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Also, some specific govt. incentives (other than basic needs) should be taken away from the family (like: subsidized gas cylinders, electricity subsidy and other subsidies and benefits).
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Also, a certain tax or a fee may b levied on them.
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In addition, they should not b allowed to contest elections.

Dire need of population control in India!!

The government is facilitating migrant labours and students in sending them back to their homes...
But then question arises what if these movements will make the situation worse as most likely, among these people will also be carriers of the contagious virus...nobody could deny that...screening is useless in frront of asymtomatic cases...plus about the 14 days home quarantine guideline? Do we really believe that these people will do that? This can turn into catastrophic..

The gov is compelled to do so because of the protests and complaints...in that case it hasn't got any other option either...

But could their have been a better way to deal with this? ...

There were reports of rising domestic violence cases...what are the chances if liquor consumption will decline those rising cases, that too during the lockdown?

Plus, some would say that it will generate revenue? Well that is a positive point...also interestingly the gov has allowed selling of selected brands...so maybe gov is thinking about people's taste and health rather than only revenue...well thats a public welfare activity ...

I am more than active on twitter and it has actually helped me to find out more from different perspectives and do research. In India right now internet is provided at a very cheap rate for everyone , so less than thankfully many labourers have the connection. Now a new trend which has commenced is low grade small movies from few production houses like fliz,gupchup etc where in they have started to show similar adult movies or porn being a welcomed route. It just doesn't need any acting skills and their is nothing in it except of the scenes and they are readily available over the net. Mixed with the languages used in songs and movies along with individual albums these days, that is degrading the humans and more so the females.
Isn't it the time to get in some strict actions in place now as even many such other atrocities like domestc violence and rapes have always played a key role in degrading the life of woman in our nation. ?

As we all are aware about the "Vande Bharat Mission" Exercise, known as the World's biggest expatriation exercise of the world, taking off today. What ae your opinions on this?
Do you think this is the correct step, correct timing to start something like this as we already know that the COVID19 cases in India are soaring rapidly. This expatriation might bolster the Pandemic and could give catastorphic results. I am sharing some of the main points below.
1. The mission is all about bringing stranded Indians from abroad.
2. 64 flights over 1 week to repatriatestranded Indians.
3. 14,800 Indians from 12 countries to be brought back in phase1.

Is it the correct step and time for THE REPATRIATION EXERCISE of the Indians from U.A.E?? 

UP becomes the second state after MP to give more autonomy to existing and future enterprises when it comes to labour laws. Both the states have scrapped most of the existing labout laws for 1000 days in order to boost the manufacturing sector and give jobs to the labourers that have gone back to the state in the wake of Covid-19.&nbsp;
As talked about in a <a href="https://policharcha.com/discussion/nation/db5518b2-a8e7-444d-9124-a3824932c36e/is-india-prepar" target="_blank">previous descussion</a>, reforms in land and labour laws are needed for India to become a manufacturing hub.
How do you see these chages for the labourers and for the enterprises? Will they provide the desired results?&nbsp;

Most labour laws scrapped in UP for three years 

Yes, they might have favored the Chinese a bit initially but they had also brought out guidelines in February.&nbsp;
And the TIMELINE tells us a different story and one which was not broadcasted much as well.&nbsp;

But China is using this 'opportunity' to engage in creating complications across its borders, whether land with India or sea, in South China Sea.

One year has gone so fast, and though initially it felt like the impact of the pandemic will be devastating for India, we are sitting at a much more comfortable position.
From capacity building in our medical infrastructure, to confidence building in our vaccination programme, we have come a long long way in just a span of one year.

Everybody came together to fight the virus and minimise its effects. Special thanks to the health care workers, and frontline heroes who not only gave us a chance to survive this adversity, but also positioned us at the lead in the fight against Covid.

Economy took a hit, but is steadily getting back on track. Migrants workers were the ones to face the brunt of the disorder that prevailed earlier. The migrants' situation could have been handled more efficiently.
