NIA detains BJP worker in Rameshwaram Cafe Blast Case; Congress questions BJP's role

According to media reports, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has detained Sai Prasad, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), in connection with the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case. This development follows statements made by two mobile shop workers during their interrogation by the NIA last week, implicating Sai Prasad.

Sai Prasad has been brought in for questioning by the NIA and is reportedly linked to two suspects involved in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast. The NIA had recently conducted raids in Shivamogga, where they searched a mobile store and the residences of the two suspects.

In response to Sai Prasad's detention, the Congress has launched a scathing attack on the BJP in Karnataka. Congress leader Dinesh Gundu Rao took to social media, questioning the implications of the arrest on the BJP's involvement in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast. Rao raised concerns about what he termed as "saffron extremism" promoted by the BJP and its potential impact on public safety.

"With the NIA arresting a BJP worker, does it not imply BJP's involvement in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast? Is there any clearer evidence that the saffron extremism propagated by the BJP in the name of religious protection is causing serious issues? What response does the central BJP, enforcing RSS ideologies nationwide, have to this?" Rao said in a tweet in Kannada.

Rao's tweet in Kannada highlighted the broader ideological clash between the BJP and the Congress, particularly in the context of religious protection and national security. He demanded answers from the BJP regarding their criticisms of the Congress-led state government's handling of the Rameshwaram Cafe blast.

The Rameshwaram Cafe blast, which occurred on March 1 in Bengaluru, resulted in injuries to at least nine individuals. Police sources revealed that the blast was caused by a low-intensity improvised explosive device (IED) triggered using a timer.
